Keeping on top of things
For many people the first thing that slips is not personal care, it is the housework. Stairs with the washing basket, changing a duvet or reaching the top of a window can quietly become a struggle long before anything else does.
Household support is about keeping your home somewhere you feel comfortable and proud of, and doing it with you rather than around you. Anything you would still like to do yourself stays yours to do.
What household support can include
- General tidying, dusting and vacuuming
- Kitchen cleaning and washing up
- Bathroom cleaning
- Laundry, drying and ironing
- Changing and making beds
- Taking bins out on collection day
- Putting shopping away and checking use by dates
- Watering plants and light everyday jobs
We do not carry out heavy or specialist work such as gardening, decorating or window cleaning above ground level, but the office team can point you towards local options.

Common questions
Is this the same as a cleaning service?
No. Our carers provide household support as part of a wider care visit, which means they also notice how you are, have a chat and can help with other things while they are there.
Do you bring cleaning products?
We normally use the products already in your home so everything stays familiar and suits your preferences. We can add items to a shopping list when they run low.
Can household tasks be combined with other support?
Yes. Most people combine household tasks with meals, shopping, personal care or companionship within the same visit.
