Our Care
Reassurance when the house goes quiet
Evening and overnight care across Newcastle, North Tyneside including North Shields, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Ponteland and selected communities across Northumberland, providing reassurance and practical support when it is needed during the night.

The hours that worry families most
Night-time can sometimes feel more difficult, particularly when someone needs help getting settled, wakes during the night, needs support with personal care or simply feels less confident when the house is quiet.
Night care can provide reassurance and practical support during those hours. The right arrangement depends on the person's individual needs, routine and care plan, and we agree this with you before support begins.
What night support can include
- Help with the evening routine and getting ready for bed
- Support with washing, changing and continence
- Prompting and support with evening medication
- Reassurance for someone who wakes during the night
- Help moving around the home safely after dark
- Support to get up and start the morning
- Help settling comfortably for the night
- Reassurance for the person receiving care and those important to them
The exact arrangement is agreed with you in advance so everyone knows what the night will look like before it begins.
Night care arranged around your needs
The most suitable arrangement is agreed following an assessment of the person's needs, routine and circumstances.
Evening visits
Support with getting ready for bed, personal care, medication and settling comfortably.
Sleeping night care
A carer remains in the home overnight and is available if support is needed, subject to assessment and the agreed care arrangement.
Waking night care
A carer remains awake and available throughout the night where regular or ongoing support is required.
How night support works
- Step 01
Understanding the nights
We talk through the person's usual night-time routine, what support is needed and any concerns that should be considered when planning care.
- Step 02
Agreeing the arrangement
Together we agree the timing and type of support, whether that is an evening visit, sleeping night care or waking night care.
- Step 03
Familiar faces after dark
Wherever possible, we aim to provide a small, consistent care team so the person receiving support can become familiar with the carers involved.
- Step 04
Keeping care connected
Important information from the night visit is recorded and shared appropriately with the care team. Where agreed and appropriate, family members or representatives can also be kept updated.
